My family friend Ricky achieved his dream of becoming a successful barber and having his own barber shop in his 20’s. Lessons I can learn from his success is how he was able to grow his business from the bottom and the ways he got connections with people.

 The word machination refers to a secret, often dishonest plan or scheme, usually with bad intentions. I first came across it while reading books or plays with characters who were plotting against each other, like in Shakespeare’s *Julius Caesar*. Understanding the word *machination* helps me explain situations where people are planning something tricky or unfair. It gives me a way to describe these kinds of plans in more detail, making my writing sound more interesting and clearer when I want to talk about complicated or sneaky actions.
